About Us

In the early 90's Joe Young's Scruples comic strip was distributed to newspapers across the U.S. He then discovered he had a knack for business and began a non-profit organization called the "Joe Picture This Show", that taught youth cartooning and character building skills. JPTS started producing live action videos with youth that were distributed to cable stations nationwide. Through the agency in 1998 Joe received a Guinness World Record for creating the world's longest comic strip (100 yards) with over 5,000 youth. This and other voluntary work was recognized by The White House and Joe received the prestigious "Daily Point of Light Award" for bringing the arts to disadvantage youth.

As technology became more accessible in discovered animated films could be produced by small studios so he started producing animated shorts with his characters that were produced for local and national TV.

Joe then was recruited by CRT, CT's largest privately own social service agency to head up its' statewide arts programming. This is where Joe developed his experience in developing arts programming. By 2000 he started The Hartford Animation Institute that trained inner city youth to create animation. Finally Joe pulled all his experience together, called upon his tight-knit family members and started the profit organization Young Studios (YS) in the heart of Downtown Hartford. YS is an advertising, animation, and film production company providing work for commercial clients. With his passion for youth development and digital art knowledge, Joe created Young Studios World with his team to provide a 5,000 square foot Fun and Learning Center for youth to discover the magic of art and technology through innovative programming.

Joe and his work have been featured in local and national media such as, People, Jet, Ebony, Essence Magazines, USA Weekend, the New York Times,, The Boston Globe, The Hartford Courant, C-span, etc.
